AN OPEN LETTER FOR VISITORS TO MY WEBSITE:

Hello,

In December, 2006, I spoke with Ted about the fact that off and on I had received comments and heard things about individuals being upset with some of the content that I had initially posted on this website.  When I told him I wanted to try to "fix" these problems, he told me that this wasn't possible to do, as there will always be someone upset about something on my - or any - website. Ted's suggestion on the best thing he thought I could do was to write an open letter to any person who visits here.  You are now reading it.

Please know that anything I have ever posted on this website has been well-meant, and was never intended to upset, hurt, or anger any person who visits here, especially the individuals this site was made for.  Many of the things posted here were sent to me by online friends and other well-meaning individuals, or were found by me - or those individuals - on other webpages already on the web.  My goal on these pages has always been to make news and information on projects being worked on by Ted Neeley, Joseph Fuqua and The Rubicon Theatre Company available online, so that those who are interested can get to these venues, or experience them through this site when they are not able to attend due to distance, illness, monetary limitations - or various other reasons that kept them from attending.

The internet is a place where privacy is a virtually non-existent thing.  I have tried, and will continue to try, my best to maintain the privacy of the individuals that my information involves.  Unfortunately, in the past, I have not always been completely successful in this effort, but I have learned from my past mistakes, and am more careful than ever in my efforts in this area.

That said, if anything found here is an issue to the individuals it involves, I would ask that you e-mail me privately (the e-mail link is on this page) to discuss this issue - within reason, and, hopefully, I can remedy your request.  (NOTE: This is not a suggestion for everyone who sees one word or sentence they don't like to send me requests, just for the individuals the items involve).  On the other hand, if you like what you see, I welcome any e-mail response to that effect as well.

That said, I very much hope that you will enjoy your time here, as many have up until now.  Thank you for visiting.

Cindi :-)

Welcome to my Website.

When I decided to do a Web Page, I chose to devote it predominantly to two men whose talents I believe in very strongly and will always support fully.  My hope is that, by reading these pages, you will come to believe in, and support, their talents and projects too, if you don’t already.

The two men in question are Ted Neeley and Joseph Fuqua.

As these two gentlemen performed together in June, 2000 in Murder In The First, I thought I might retitle this page "Hank and Willie" (their characters in the show), but for the sake of those who have not seen the show (plans to tour it are still up-in-the-air as far as I know), or who may find the title a little confusing, I've elected to keep the one I've used above.

You will find bio pages for both Ted and Joseph here, and sections of this Website are devoted to projects involving Ted:  "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "JCS - The 2006-2009 AD  Tour", The JCS YTA Benefit and Rasputin”, as well as “Murder In The First” and "BeckettFest", both of which involved Joseph as well.  There is a very good chance that some of these projects could come your way soon.  See their specific sections on my Web Page for more info on these landmark productions/events.  Some of these pages may take awhile to download (particularly the "JCS" page, as there are a number of pictures on it, and a surprise background MP3 as well that you can listen to while you're viewing it, however, you can view the page while you're waiting for the MP3 to download), but if you stick it out, I think you will find them well worth the wait.

There are also four pages devoted to areas connected to Ted and/or Joseph.  One is my Carl Anderson Memorial Page, a second page is my Rubicon Theatre Company Page - where Ted, Carl and Joseph have all performed (and it seems that Ted's (as well as Joseph's) Ventura appearances keep continuing. (Ted stayed on at RTC as a sound designer/engineer for their hit production of Lies & Legends after Murder closed, and later appeared as Lucky in BeckettFest's "Waiting For Godot.") .  Two other pages involve: Ted's Birthday presentations, and our "Ted Family" - otherwise known by some as Ted's Tedheads.  Take a look - I think you will find them very worthwhile as well.

WHAT'S NEW:

1.  * TED HAS HIS OWN WEBSITE!!!

Ted's website came online fully on 3/13/07! It includes a page for a letter from Ted, a photo gallery - with some great rehearsal/backstage/cast party pictures, a Tour Date tab which shows current JCS tour dates for Leg 3 of the tour at this time (the itinerary and venue info for dates that are confirmed for the upcoming Leg 4 can be found in the First Ted Neeley List (www.movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/firsttedneeleylist) files on yahoogroups), a "Ted Shop" page (for which we had received tee samples to give our opinions on), and a contact page (with the Webmaster's e-mail). There is also a guestbook, which Ted had originally posted on whenever he had the time (a very rare commodity!). The site is inactive for awhile, and the guestbook is "closed for vacation," at least until the current JCS tour goes back out on the road in December. Hopefully, the guestbook will come back online on at that time. If things go smoothly, hopefully, the rest of the site will be online soon as well. Can't wait to see the rest! Here's the link:

2.  * JCS - NEW ADDITIONS:

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!

 * TED'S LATEST VENUE

JCS 2006 - 2010 AD TOUR

UPDATE 5/4/09
: Well, Leg 3 ended last night with a bang-up performance, and with Ted making a speech to the audience during the curtain call, where he said, among other things, "...We've been told we will pick this up again in a few months, and I can't be happier." But, I will again stress what I've stated in the 4/24/09 update below. Let's just keep our fingers crossed until we hear something official from Ted and/or Morgan. However, in the interest of getting the correct, most up-to-date venue info out there for ticket-buyers, should this come to pass, you can find all the tentative Leg 4 online dates we've located at this time on my JCS Tour Page.

UPDATE 4/24/09 - IMPORTANT NOTE:

As of April 14, 2009 bookings for a fourth leg of this tour have started appearing online. These bookings are being posted in the files of First Ted Neeley List (FTNL), but this is a REMINDER that NOTHING IS OFFICIAL UNTIL IT IS ANNOUNCED BY TED, OR HIS WEBMASTER MORGAN.

Originally billed as "The Farewell Tour," this tour has had almost daily updates and additions since it
hit the road over three years ago. So I've placed all the info of this latest "Ted Venue" a separate page on this site.  There is a  section for the Tour Itinerary and Venue Information (only 2008-2009 third leg dates at this time), including some not posted on the Tour Official Website (http://www.thejcstour.com/). There are also sections for Show Reviews and Publicity, Tour Updates, Pictures from Cast Members' Families and Meet and Greets, and List Members' Show Observations - particularly some of my own during the Tour's run here in Cleveland (12/5 - 10/06). Once the redesign is completed on this website, these pages will be separated but connected by links for faster downloading.

There is also a quick-find bookmark section at the top of the page for even easier reference!

You can find my JCS Tour page

here
UPDATE 2/25/09:  THE TOUR IS HERE AT LAST!!!  CHECK MY UPDATE SECTION ON MY JCS PAGE AT THE LINK ABOVE!!!
NOTE
:
This website is currently being re-fixed and updated.  While this is happening, I will still be updating the current schedule of third leg tour dates and venue info posted here.  At the same time, and in the case of webhost/computer issues, the most up-to-date current schedule info can always be found in the First Ted Neeley List Yahoogroup files and calendar. Thanks for your patience. The list is here:

FIRST TED NEELEY LIST

*UPDATE 12/1/07The JCS Tour now has a blog being posted by one of Ted's understudies, Evan!  You can find the blog HERE (http://jcstour.blogspot.com/). It's a great way to keep up-to-date on all the current tour happenings on the road first-hand from a cast member!!

4.  RTC - Rubicon Theatre Company:

PLEASE HELP RTC!!!

A word from Ted on the "It Takes A Village Campaign," and RTC!

For more videos on "It Takes A Village, visit RTC's YouTube Channel, and/or my RTC page.

On May 13 & May 16, 2009, RTC held two rallies to start a grassroots campaign to save The Rubicon Theatre Company. Below, and on my RTC page, is information on those rallies, and the card you can print out and use to donate to this incredibly worthwhile and vital arts organization. In this horrible economy, the arts are suffering more than they ever have.  AND THEY NEED OUR HELP TO SURVIVE!!!

UPDATE 6/10/09:

I received the following campaign update from Karyl Lynn Burns today:

From: Karyl Lynn Burns
Subject: Rubicon Theatre Village Campaign Update
Date: Wednesday, June 10, 2009, 4:41 AM

Dear Fellow Villagers:

Today we start our first formal e-mail update to those of you who expressed interest in receiving periodic updates about Rubicon’s It Takes a Village campaign.

The good news: nearly 600 people (including some who wished to be anonymous) have given a total of $191,346. We have an additional $3,752 in pledges, with a grand total of $195,090 committed to the campaign. We are now about 19.5% of the way to our goal of $1 million!

The challenge:  We are still fighting cash flow needs and MUST raise an additional $200,000 towards the goal in the next two to three weeks.

Thank you to you whose names are listed at the bottom of this e-mail for being early believers in this new grass-roots way of raising support.  The idea is “many hands make light work.” Instead of 80% of the funds coming from 20% of the people, the goal is for everyone to participate to the extent of their ability. We are asking all who benefit from Rubicon's presence in our community to consider making a gift of at least $1 a day - or $365 a year. It's also possible to make a monthly pledge of $31 or more. If we all do what we can, we WILL achieve the goal. We will be the people who would not let our community’s non-profit professional theatre falter in these difficult times and who ensured it was here for the next decade and for future generations!

Examples and Ideas

·        Rubicon Board Member Marion Witte of the Angel Heart Foundation came up with the idea of Village Elders – the goal was to find 10 people to give $10,000 each once we reached the $100,000 mark. It’s the main reason we’ve seen significant growth in the past two weeks. We are thankful to those who have joined the Elders program so far: Marion (leading by example, thank you!), Lori and Richard Reisman, Barbara Meister and Barber Automotive Group (in memory of Larry Meister) and an Anonymous contributor who gave in honor and in memory of a recently departed friend Lillian Ludlam, who loved theatre. We are still looking for at least six more individuals to become Elders (Young Elders are welcome, too J). If you are able to join this group, please call us.

·        Stephen Kipp contributed $3,650 -- the recommended village donation amount of $365 for EACH person on his 10-member staff. Stephen announced this generous gift at a performance of Fiddler on the Roof  in which he hosted his clients for the show and a reception.

·        At a local salon, the hairdressers encouraged their customers to give and raised $365 in a day to donate to the cause.

·        One villager e-mailed friends and raised approximately $2,000. Would you like to do the same? Just cut and paste this address into your e-mail. Invite friends to join you and help us reach our goals. Here’s the hyperlink:

·        A supporter of Rubicon’s education programs has organized alums of the outreach programs to put on a benefit at the theatre in August. Look for details soon.

·        Gourmet chef Linda Hale and her husband Scott are going to prepare a primo meal in their home with a goal of raising $5,000 towards the campaign.

Rally Comments

Here’s a sampling of a few of the comments from attendees at the Town Hall Rallies.  We’ll send you a few with each e-mail so that we can remind each other of why we all care…

Why Rubicon Matters to Me…

“Great art!  Great family!  Great home to create in!” – Jenny Sullivan

“A place to belong and meet friends.” – Wanda Woessner

“Rubicon matters on many levels.  It is wonderful to have professional theatre in our community.  Most important is the Rubicon’s Education Outreach programs.  Serving our youth at a time when arts education is lacking in our schools is vital and timely.” – Tom and Debbie Golden

“Great art.  Local.” – Mike Merewether

“We love having quality theatre in our own town!!!  And we love the community feeling of having Rubicon in Ventura!” – Scott and Linda Hale

Why Rubicon Matters to the Community

“Exposes youth to theatre; brings people to Ventura.” – Carolyn Dolen

“Without the Rubicon and its great professionalism, rather than enriching our community it will begin the slow decline which we have so beautifully climbed out of with its growth.” – Karen Lee Hoffberg

“Our community needs local events of quality.” – Howard Brandwein

“A vibrant beat of artistic creation.” – Jeanne Scott

“The Rubicon offers quality entertainment close to home.  It’s Los Angeles-caliber performances in a community we all share and love.” – Nancy Kaye Swanson

SEE INFO BELOW ON HOW YOU CAN HELP RTC!!!

As you know from announcements at Rubicon’s recent acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof, our annual campaign this season is “It Takes a Village.”

With the current economy, now, more than ever, it really does take an entire village – villagers of every age and background and every walk of life to sustain a non-profit theatre company. We are trying to explore ways to think “out of the box” and create a new grass-roots model of support, but we need you!
If you care about Rubicon and the future of our region – please join us!
Come meet our “It Takes a Village” Chairs Sandra Laby and Doug Halter; visit with Rubicon founders Karyl Lynn Burns and James O’Neil; see friends, neighbors and associates; and say hello to adults and young people whose lives are positively impacted by Rubicon’s presence in our community.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how a non-profit theatre functions, hear a status report on the finances of Rubicon, and ask any questions you may have. Then help us brainstorm about how to go forward in these challenging times.

RSVP to Patrick O'Hara at pohara@rubicontheatre.org or at 805.667.2912, extension 237.
We need you! Remember, even if you’ve never volunteered or served on a committee before, this is an inclusive, grass-roots effort! There are ways you can make a difference! Attendees are under no obligation-please come and learn more.

UPDATE: We are sorry to announce that due to an unforseen casting problem the upcoming production of Trying is being postponed until next season. If you are a subscriber or have already purchased tickets to this show, we will be issuing replacement tickets and mailing them to you once the new dates are determined. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Trying is the story of the internationally known Francis Biddle, Attorney General under President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Chief Judge of the Nuremberg trials. The play is set in 1967 when Biddle is 81 years old and trying to put his life in order. From old money and sharply cantankerous, he struggles with the inevitability of his age and failing health. His wife has forced upon him a new secretary named Sarah, who is all of 25 years old, and the two struggle to find a way to communicate. This richly scripted story illustrates how two strangers, at two dramatically different places in their lives, can unexpectedly and forever influence each other. Trying was inspired by playwright Glass' own experience as Biddle's personal secretary from 1967-68 and world-premiered at Chicago's Victory Gardens Theater in 2004.

Words and music by Michael Rapp

Rasputin” is a musical exploration of the people, places and events surrounding compelling historical figures - Tsar Nicholas II and wife Alexandra, their four beautiful daughters, son Alexei and Rasputin, the “peasant priest” whose enigmatic mixture of sensuality and spirituality held sway over the Russian court.  At the core of the show is the connection between Rasputin and the heir to the throne, Alexei.  Suffering from hemophilia, the young Tsarevitch sees Rasputin as a mysterious healer, while others see him as an unscrupulous opportunist bent on exploiting his relationship with the Royal Family.  Through the eyes of intolerance, Rasputin is a cunning manipulator.  Through the eyes of acceptance, he is a miracle worker.  A savior?  A Charlatan?  The miracle of Rasputin ultimately lies in the eye of the beholder.

I’ve had the privilege to watch Ted Neeley perform live since 1973, when he came here to perform in Tommy at Musicarnival.  Throughout the years, I have seen Ted numerous times in Jesus Christ Superstar (both live onstage and in the film version), and I have also been lucky enough to see him perform in Rasputin (12/18/99) Murder In The First (6/10 & 6/11/00), Waiting For Godot (9/2 - 10/4/04 - (in BeckettFest 9/18-10/4)), and his latest project: the current JCS AD Tour (2006-2009).  I have also been fortunate to perform with him in the JCS YTA Benefit  at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Los Angeles in August 2006 with the Agape choir.

I have also had the privilege, as have many of us ("Tedheads," as we are called these days, though I prefer the phrase "Ted Family"), of meeting and spending time with Ted.  I have found him to be one of the kindest, most gracious and most compassionate people I've ever met.  I am honored to call him a friend, and to know that he considers me his friend as well.

The Grand Forks ND Herald published an article that, I think, can give the best illustration of the special man that Ted is.  It's entitled:  "Looking Inside Ted Neeley's Heart".  You can find it here:

Looking Inside Ted Neeley's Heart

This article was part of an entire Ted/JCS Directory on skynet.  For the entire skynet JCS article directory, see:

If any of the articles don't come up on their links, let me know.

MY THOUGHTS ON, AND EXPERIENCES WITH, TED

Ted, to this day, is still humbled by all the attention he gets.  When we spoke in June, 2000 in Ventura he told me:  "I don't know what I did to deserve all of this, but I must have done something good in a past life."  It takes a very special person to be that humble in the face of all the notoriety and fandom that Ted experiences, and this is what makes Ted so special.  He is always polite, and never dismisses a fan, no matter how late it gets (he's held fort after shows as late as 5AM in the past!), and the best thing is that he remembers everyone he meets, AND where he meets them.

Then and now:  The picture on the left is my favorite picture of Ted and me, taken backstage after "Rasputin" (12/18/99) at 2:30AM. The one on the right was taken at "O'Neil's Dennys" on the last night of "BeckettFest" - (10/3/04). I'm not "curly" these days - and hope I don't look too much older. But Ted- in two "colors" - hasn't changed at all!

To illustrate this, I will tell you the tale of our first three meetings.  I first met Ted here in Cleveland after Superstar in 1993 (I think), and spoke to him briefly for about 5 minutes.  This was in the very first autograph line Ted and Carl had.  I mentioned seeing him in Tommy here (in 1972), and he told me that another fan had also mentioned Tommy, and that she had brought a picture he had taken with her at Tommy to show him.  A year later, during our second meeting, which was again not more than 5 minutes, I showed him a copy of the then 22-year-old program from Tommy (it’s now 35 years old).  Well, he was knocked out by it, and showed it to everyone.  Three years later I was in line after another performance of JCS, this time in Akron.  When I got to the front of the line, Ted turned around to say hello, saw me and said (and I will NEVER forget this): “We’ve met before.”  Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather!  I figured, different city, different theatre, there was NO WAY he would connect the two places, or remember meeting me at all.  But he did.  He even remembered the Tommy program!  Whenever I saw him after that, he still remembered, and he remembers today.  (We should all have such good memories, shouldn’t we?)

THE "TEDHUG"

I'm sure that everyone who's reading this has either heard of, and/or experienced firsthand, a "Tedhug".  If you haven't; then you really need to get one.  Don't we all just LOVE these?  They are amazing things.  Ted hugs you so tight, it's like squeezing the juice out of an orange.  I know of no other celebrity (actually no one at all) who hugs people like Ted does.  I got the top one on Thursday (10/5/06) in Toledo, OH after JCS (and it's quickly becoming another favorite picture of mine - thank you Sean Grindle!), the one below left after dinner at The Pierpont Inn when we saw Ted in June, 2000 (someone took it on my camera - don't know who - but thank you!)  in "Murder in the First" at The Rubicon Theatre in Ventura, CA., the below right one this past April in Pittsburgh at the M&G after the JCS Saturday night  performance, and the last two on 2/27/09 after the Friday night Cleveland, OH performance.

If you have not met Ted yet, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you try to meet him after the show the next time he comes to your city.  (Which, with the CURRENT JCS TOUR, could be sooner than you think!) For anyone who doesn’t know this (and I’m sure there are very few who don’t and are reading this), you will probably have to wait for quite some time to say hello, because Ted greets each and every person like they are the only one who came back to say hi.  It is true that M&G's are much fewer and rarer these days (Ted needs to stay healthy and well-rested to perform at his best for all of us on the road!), and they only happen in the lobby, if at all, rather than at the stage door, the way they did in the past, but if you're lucky enough to get one, trust me, it’s WELL WORTH the wait.

Jenn, Judy and Veth were fortunate to have a private lunch with Ted when weather kept him from appearing in RTC's
Winter Wonderland fundraiser.  As Ted gave me the nickname on the sign he's holding, this just seemed to be a good
spot to post this picture.

JOSEPH FUQUA

Work my puzzle and see who smiles back at you!

MY THOUGHTS ON, AND EXPERIENCES WITH, JOSEPH

I decided to devote the other half of my Web Page to Joseph Fuqua, because he is an amazing up-and-coming talent.  Those of us who went to see "Murder In The First" went with Ted as our main focus.  Once we got there, we found Joseph a pleasant surprise.  He is going places - FAST.**  I wanted to introduce you to Joseph, if you haven't already seen him on television or in your neighborhood movie theatre.  I had the pleasure of first meeting Joseph after "Murder In The First", and found him to be very friendly and gracious.  Joseph was to tour with "Murder", but those plans got put on hold when the show didn't go forward. If further plans for this show do come to pass in the future, Joseph will, most likely, tour with it.

BeckettFest afforded me the time to get to know Joseph better (during my stay at RTC), and my visits for Hamlet last May, You Can't Take It With You at Christmas, 2007, and, most recently, Fiddler on the Roof this past April gave me even more precious time with Joseph (rarity that it is!), so I can honestly say that he is an extremely gracious, funny, sweet, super nice guy who more than deserves all the attention he's getting these days!  If he's at RTC when any of you go down there, please say hello. I'm sure you will find him as much fun, and as sweet, as I do!

Joseph graciously posed for this pic with me during BeckettFest at RTC in 9/04. Chris Reynnolds, when she snapped this shot in the RTC offices, warned me that Joseph always looks better than anyone else in the pictures he takes. He denied it, but Chris - you're RIGHT!  LOL!

Steve (last RTC Board President) and Cynde Magidson (RTC's "resident" photographers) snapped this pic at the BeckettFest Wrap Party at Austen's. I think Joseph looks great with - or without - glasses!

This latest shot was taken by Joseph himself during my last visit on 4/20/09.  It was 86 degrees, or so,
that day, so we're both a little sweaty, but Joseph still looks AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS, doesn't he? :-)

Since "Murder",  Joseph has become the first Company Member with The Rubicon Theatre Company, appearing three times in their 2001 season, in The Rainmaker (with Stephanie Zimbalist - October 12-November 5, 2000), The Glass Menagerie (with Susan Clark - March 1-25, 2001), and The Boys Next Door (with Dirk Blocker and Dana Elcar - May 3-June 3, 2001), as well as taking part in a special all-star 2-night staged reading of Ancestral Voices: A Family Story - (March 18-19, 2001).  (Check out links to reviews on these shows on Joseph's bio page on this site.)   "The Rainmaker" returned in a special encore run to kick of RTC's 2002 season in late August/September, 2001 (see the notice on Joseph's bio page).

Joseph was scheduled to direct J for J (Oct. 20-Nov. 4, 2001) in RTC's 2002 season, but was paged to repeat his role as Jeb Stuart in the Gettysburg prequel Gods and Generals (currently playing in movie theatres throughout the US), however, he did direct the second engagement of J for J, when it moved to LA, and  he did perform at RTC later in the 2002 season in the smash hit Old Wicked Songs (April 13-May 19, 2002) with Harold Gould (which traveled to Santa Fe Stages in Santa Fe, NM for a special engagement (June 21-July 14, 2002)) (see info on Joseph's bio page), per the updates below:

In the 2003 RTC season, Joseph performed in Dancing At Lughnasa (February 24-April 6, 2003), A Streetcar Named Desire (April 24-May 25, 2003), and Art (August 28-September 28, 2003), as well as directing Of Time and Tide (June, 2003) - all at Rubicon Theatre Company.

In the 2004 season at RTC, Joseph appeared in All My Sons (October 9-November 9, 2003), and The Importance of Being Earnest (February 26-March 24, 2004).  Joseph won an Ovation Award in 2004 for his work in All My Sons (details are on on my page for him, as well as the Rubicon Theatre Company page)!

Joseph was to play Lucky in RTC's Waiting For Godot, to begin the 2004-2005 season at BeckettFest, but he had to withdraw, due to illness.  Fortunately, he recovered quickly enough to be a moderator at the Festival.

Joseph also appeared as Jake Latta in RTC's Night of the Iguana in the 2004-2005 RTC season. Iguana relocated for a second run at the Manitoba Theatre Centre of Canada, from November 18 - December 11, 2004.  Here's the link for that engagement:

http://www.mtc.mb.ca/iguana.html

Joseph directed RTC's inaugural production for their new event called "Show of Justice". The show, was Twelve Angry Jurors (a.k.a. Twelve Angry Men) and played 11/4 - 6/05. For more on this program, see both Joseph's page and RTC's page on my site.

In RTC's 2004-2005 season, Joseph appeared as Mitch Albom in Tuesdays With Morrie - (a reunion with Harold Gould - whom he last appeared at RTC with in Old Wicked Songs) -  for those who missed this show, it was a really beautiful production.  Details on the show are are on my Joseph and RTC pages.

In RTC's (2005-2006) season, Joseph appeared as Dale Harding in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest March 16 through April 9, 2006, and appeared as The Duke in Man of La Mancha all at RTC.

In RTC's (2006-2007) season, Joseph appeared in Shakespeare's plumb lead role of "the Melancholy Dane" himself in Hamlet (4/26 - 5/20/07).  Joseph threw in some Shakespeare - just for fun - during a coaching session I had with him that November (2006), and, as I suspected even then, he was absolutely fabulous in the role - as was "verified" when he won an Indy Award for Best Performance by an Actor!

In RTC's (2007-2008) season, Joseph appeared  in two RTC productions: You Can't Take It With You (11/15 - 12/23/07) (which was QUITE an outing, as just about everyone who's ever appeared at RTC was tapped to be in the show!  A great time was had by all, and Joseph was hilarious as Ed), and Picasso at the Lapine Agile (4/3 - 27/08) (another outrageous outing written by Steve Martin that  delivered a TON of laughs.  Joseph got spectacular notices as Charles Dabernow Schmendiman.

This season (2008-2009) Joseph appeared in a one-night reading I Loved Lucy (2/9/09), as Lee Tannen. This show/reading was presented as part of the RTC Plays In Progress series. Joseph also directed the Rubicon Youth Acting Intensive production of Bard On A Wire and appeared as The Constable in Fiddler on the Roof (3/19 - 4/26/09)!!!

Next season (2009-2010) Joseph is slated to appear in The Tempest (originally scheduled for 9/3 - 27/09 - this season). If his last outing as Hamlet is any hint of "Shakespearean" things to come, this ought to be a great evening! Don't miss this!

***

While we are fortunate that Joseph has become the first Company Member at RTC, (per Karyl Lynn Burns' 3/3/03 Rubicon Patrons' Crossings Newsletter e-mail: Rubicon's first company member Joseph Fuqua (who has appeared in 6 Rubicon productions) (NOTE: Joseph's first appearance at RTC was in "The Little Foxes" in 1999, and with his performances in their 2007-2008 season, the number increases to 21 - with "Ancestral Voices" included -, plus one Associate Directorial slate and one Directorial Slate)), he is definitely going places fast.  I recommend you catch Joseph while you can, because he's a very special commodity. I was told back in 2001 that Joseph got picked up by a major agency, and his career could really take off at any time! So if you'd like to see him before "we knew him when" becomes a reality, it sounds to me like you'd better hurry!

THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF TED NEELEY:  NEELEY ON THE ROAD !!!

Ted's website came online fully on 3/13/07!

It includes a page for a letter from Ted, and a photo gallery - with some great rehearsal/backstage/cast party pictures, a Tour Date tab which shows current JCS tour dates (for the third leg), a "Ted Shop" page (for which we had received tee samples to give our opinions on), and a contact page (with Morgan’s (Ted’s Webmaster) e-mail). There is also a guestbook, which Ted had originally posted on whenever he had the time (a very rare commodity!). The site is inactive for the time being, and the guestbook is "on vacation" at least until the current JCS Tour goes back on the road in November. Hopefully, if things continue to go smoothly, the site  and guestbook will be active again soon. Can't wait to see the rest! Here's the link:

completely in Italian, but somehow I'm sure we'll understand the gist of things just the same. Designer:
Claudio Miranda - and thanks for the link, guys!

Mike Soper's Rasputin Site:
A new site by Rasputin cast member Mike Soper, with pictures from Rasputin we haven’t seen
before, including some taken in the Rasputin recording studio (yes guys, Ted has a full head of hair
again - and it looks great!). And ... it was designed by Kathy Herder!

Three friends:  Mike Soper, Ted Neeley and Jim O'Neil
at the studio while recording Rasputin.

Shane Earnest's Ted Neeley Story "Blues Beans With Jesus":
Thanks again to Linda (lindafenton@hotmail.com) for finding this little gem. Shane tells me that he met
Ted in 1993 and helped coin the term "Tedhead". This page is a story about a trip he took with Ted to
Memphis, Tenn. I've told him that we'd all LOVE to read more stories about his times with Ted, and, as
             he puts it:
"I have debated adding to the blues beans page other details of
that trip, and perhaps more stories of Ted. Since
                 it seems there are people
out there who want to hear it, I'll start writing more for the site!".

NOTE: There is a second Ted story attached to this link now, but at the moment, I can't raise either
link. I think they may have been moved. As soon as I find them again I will post both links here

The site is predominantly about Shane's current project: "The Southern Comfort Band - A
Janis Joplin Tribute", a project that Shane attributes the beginnings of from his discussions
with Ted. All Janis Joplin/Big Brother & The Holding Company fans can check out the info
on this project on Shane's Homepage:

E-MAIL / YAHOOGROUPS / MYSPACE / FACEBOOK LISTS/GROUPS

This section of my links includes e-mail lists for Ted and JCS.  Not all the lists on the web are listed here, but these are the ones I have had contact with, or am a part of.  Enjoy!

First Ted Neeley List Yahoogroup (FTNL)**
            The original Ted-Neeley list replacement.
Ted-Neeley had been on Yahoogroups since 10/5/00, but the
              list
existed on charm.net before that. It was removed for unknown reasons, so I started this one as a replacement,
and it's growing fast (318 members as of 9/21/09 – 6 members higher than the final tally on the original ted-neeley
list)!!! You can find all the dates - past and upcoming - for the current JCS (2006-2010)
AD (nee "Farewell") Tour
that we have found on the web to date, and/or have been released, in our list calendar. Come join the First Ted
Neeley List, we'd LOVE to have you along for the ride!

     him to thank for that.

"TED" MISCELLANEOUS SITE FINDS

Ted Neeley Beard:

A New Band is paying tribute to Ted - check this out
"Ted Neeley Beard, formed in July 2001 and based in Moncton, N.B., Canada, consists of Shane Bannister, Peter Gorman,
Jesse Griffith, and Olivier Jarda- all students of Moncton High School. With a unique blend of rock, funk, jazz, and other
influences, people are starting to talk. And this site gives you everything you need to know about the band, and then some."

Thanks to Linda (
lindafenton@hotmail.com) for this find!

A TED LOOKALIKE?

Do these pictures look a little like a young Ted to you? They aren't, they're pictures of a new artist named Robin
Thicke. He's Alan Thicke's ("Growing Pains" star) son. While I'm not in the habit of linking other artists to this site
(outside of Joseph and the JCS folks, of course), when some of the Tedheads posted these pictures tonight, I thought it
was kind of cute/interesting that Robin does sort of bear a resemblance to a young Ted. Anyway, his site link is listed
above, for those who are curious.
